My film was inspired by a comment a waitress made while my partner and I were on a date - that we looked like 'a couple of elves'. We'd spent the whole day wondering around the gorgeous parks and wilderness of Mount Dandenong, and that little comment just filled me with inspiration. What would it look like if two elves really did walk into a bar? I've always been a sucker for fairy tales, so I took the idea and ran with it, hoping to create something as mysterious, lush, and seductive as the entrancing stories of my youth.
